Needlework at the Parliament? Yes!
The Semne Cusute Association, Tracks4Crafts’s Romanian non-profit partner dedicated to researching, preserving, and reviving traditional embroidery patterns from historical shirts organized the first edition of the Cronica Acului (The Chronicle of the Needle) exhibition, bringing traditional embroidery to the Romanian Parliament.
The event celebrated the country’s rich textile heritage - showcasing preserved patterns, age-old techniques, and living traditions of embroidery - while opening dialogue on how the Association can collaborate with public institutions.
Among those attending were representatives from the Parliamentary Commission for UNESCO, two Secretaries of State from the Ministry of Culture, experts from the National Museum of the Romanian Peasant, and the President of the UNESCO Commission. Together, participants explored plans for collaboration between cultural institutions and craft communities.
The initiative received recognition from the Romanian Ministry of Culture, which featured the exhibition on its official Facebook page: 🔗 Ministry of Culture post
